So, my band broke up, and i've been pretty depressed over it. Too depressed to really be motivated to write, anyway.
However, I came across this little gem by the late Bill Hicks, and I think he hits the nail on the head.

That fucking sucks, man. Maybe this just means that a better band is in the future for you. You remember the way I described your voice and that was indeed a compliment and a voice like that deserves a damn good band.

Fucking sweet. In a roundabout way, that Bill Hicks clip is the same thing my last abortive attempt at a short story was about.
Re: your band, I continue my stance of fuck that sucks. But as into it, smart about it, and talented as you are (and no god damn arguing, you are, I've heard you), you'll find the next thing, so long as you don't lie down and roll over.
Although if you do lie down and roll over, I'll sexually assault you. So maybe you could, you know, lie down for just a few minutes. It won't take long.
